Day of Giving

"What are you doing for others?"

On the day of remembrance for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this quote sticks with me always. Throughout my career, I've always tried to ask myself if what I am doing for my customers is helping them be better at the end of the day. I hope that with the information I've tried to provide over the years to those that I have met fulfills that promise.

It's important to take time out to assess your soul aside from your business senses. To me, the world would be a much better place if everyone came from a place of compassion and giving, rather than a race to see who has the most toys at the end of the race. Take time to reach out to someone less fortunate, research the plight of someone in your circle, and lend a shoulder of support to someone who really needs it. Maybe it's a family member, a coworker, or a customer, but whoever it is, make a difference. If we all can do that, we've helped Dr. King move us closer to his ideal of what America could truly be.

If you are thinking that I've broken format from my usual monthly message, consider that maybe, just maybe, one of the trends coming is giving back to the community and increasing awareness! One person can only do so much, so here's hoping that there's a groundswell to follow along.
